Assembly Software | Remote | Short-Term Advisory Contract | Hourly Rate Engagement Type: Short-term advisory contract Compensation: Competitive hourly consulting rate, $300 to $600 per hour commensurate with experience Location: Fully remote Commitment: Flexible; structured around defined review milestones Target Start: Q2/Q3 2026 Independence Requirement: Candidates must have no existing commercial relationship with Assembly Software ABOUT ASSEMBLY SOFTWARE Assembly Software is a PE-backed B2B SaaS legal technology company serving more than 2,500 law firms across the United States. Our platform supports the full lifecycle of legal matter management, and we are actively expanding our AI-powered capabilities to help plaintiff firms work faster and with greater confidence. Our team is fully remote and mission-driven. THE OPPORTUNITY We are building AI-powered tools for personal injury law firms, including technology that supports demand letter strategy and case valuation. As we prepare for broader release, we are engaging a select group of independent legal experts to validate our approach — ensuring that what we build reflects how experienced PI practitioners actually think about demand packages, case narrative, and damages strategy across a range of practice areas. This is a paid advisory engagement, not a permanent role. We are looking for attorneys whose deep, practice-based expertise can help us get this right. Your independence from Assembly Software is a condition of the engagement and a core part of what makes your validation credible. INDEPENDENCE REQUIREMENT To preserve the integrity of this validation work, candidates must have no current or prior commercial relationship with Assembly Software or its products. This will be confirmed during screening and documented in the advisory agreement. PRACTICE AREAS OF PARTICULAR INTEREST We are especially interested in advisors with depth in one or more of the following sub-specialties, as demand strategy and case valuation vary meaningfully across these practice types: Commercial Trucking FMCSA regulations, black box data, carrier liability, and catastrophic injury valuation in trucking cases. Nursing Home and Elder Care Regulatory violations, elopement, falls, pressure injuries, and damages narrative in long-term care cases. Construction Liability Labor Law claims, scaffold and ladder cases, contractor and subcontractor liability chains. Workers Compensation Intersection of workers comp and third-party PI claims, liens, and demand strategy in dual-track cases. Premises Liability and Slip and Fall Notice, condition, and comparative fault strategy in retail, municipal, and residential premises cases. General PI Demand Strategy Demand letter architecture, case valuation methodology, narrative strategy, and negotiation positioning. WHAT YOU WILL DO • Review AI-generated demand letter content and case summaries to assess accuracy, completeness, and alignment with PI practitioner standards • Evaluate the strategic logic of how our tool structures demand narratives, damages arguments, and supporting documentation • Assess our evaluation rubric to confirm it reflects how experienced PI attorneys define quality in a demand package • Identify gaps, errors, or framing weaknesses that could undermine the document’s effectiveness in a real negotiation or litigation context • Provide structured written feedback using templates we will supply • Participate in one or two brief debrief calls with our product team to clarify findings WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR • Active bar admission in good standing (required) • Minimum eight years of plaintiff-side PI practice with demonstrated demand letter and pre-litigation strategy experience • Sub-specialty depth in one or more of the practice areas listed above • Published work, CLE faculty experience, or book authorship in PI litigation is strongly preferred — we are looking for practitioners who think and write about their craft, not just practice it • Ability to evaluate AI-generated legal content independently and provide clear, written feedback accessible to a non-attorney product team • No current or prior commercial relationship with Assembly Software (required — see independence requirement above) Preferred Signals of Thought Leadership • Authored or co-authored a book or practice guide in PI litigation, demand strategy, or a sub-specialty listed above • Regular faculty at AAJ, state trial lawyers associations, or accredited CLE programs • Published articles in trial lawyer journals, bar publications, or legal trade press on demand strategy or case valuation • Academic or clinical faculty appointment at an ABA-accredited law school in tort, civil litigation, or related field • Expert witness or consulting practice serving other plaintiff attorneys in your area of specialization WHY THIS WORK MATTERS Demand letters are the most consequential document in a PI case before trial. The difference between a well-constructed demand and a mediocre one can be measured in settlement value, negotiation leverage, and case outcomes for injured clients. Legal AI is entering this space rapidly. Your expertise will help determine whether the tools plaintiff firms rely on actually reflect how skilled practitioners approach this work — or whether they just look like they do. This is not a ceremonial advisory role. We want substantive, direct feedback from practitioners who have strong opinions about what good looks like. If you have written about it, taught it, or built a practice around it, we want to hear from you. HOW TO APPLY Please submit the following to with the subject line: Legal Advisor — PI Demand Strategy: • Your current CV or professional bio • A brief statement (300 words or fewer) describing your experience with PI demand strategy and the sub-specialty areas most relevant to your practice • Links to or titles of any published work, CLE presentations, or books relevant to this engagement • Your preferred hourly consulting rate • Confirmation that you have no current or prior commercial relationship with Assembly Software Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We will reach out directly to candidates whose background aligns with our validation needs.
