Attorney

Hinman, Howard & Kattell, LLP is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of litigation experience to join our Albany office. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated commercial, contract, and construction-related disputes as part of a collaborative and respected regional law firm. Candidates must be admitted to practice in New York. Experience in commercial litigation, contract disputes, and/or construction litigation is strongly preferred, though candidates with other substantive litigation experience are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda, and other legal documents Managing and coordinating responses to complex discovery demands Preparing for and conducting depositions, including defending clients and witnesses Drafting and responding to interrogatories and document demands Reviewing, organizing, and managing large volumes of electronic documents and case materials Conducting legal research and analysis Negotiating settlements and assisting with dispute resolution strategy Appearing in court, conferences, and hearings as needed Conducting consultations with prospective clients Assisting with case management from inception through resolution Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess: 2–5 years of litigation experience Admission to practice in New York State Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills Excellent organizational and time-management abilities Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively The ability to work independently while also collaborating with attorneys and staff A strong work ethic and commitment to client service This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking meaningful litigation experience, direct client interaction, and professional growth within a collegial and team-oriented environment.
