Description

Firm Overview Simon Law Group, LLC is an established, civil trial and transactional law firm providing comprehensive legal support statewide from our offices in Central New Jersey. Our dedicated civil practice groups handle active legal matters across family law (including complex divorce, custody, and matrimonial asset division), real estate transactions, foreclosure defense, personal injury, estate planning, bankruptcy, criminal and DUI defense, workers’ compensation, and social security disability claims. We are explicitly hiring an Associate Attorney who wants to try cases, write substantive briefs, lead direct client relationships, negotiate active disputes, appear in court, and grow into a long-term senior role. This position is built for intensive trial and case management exposure, not a document-review pool. We maintain strict W-2 payroll compliance across our entire legal team. We do not engage associate attorneys as 1099 independent contractors because New Jersey classification guidelines demand full employment protections, and the professionals managing our files deserve absolute baseline corporate stability. Compensation Architecture Our firm provides an objective, formula-driven compensation framework written directly into your employment contract. There are no opaque “black-box” bonus reviews, no arbitrary origination-credit quotas, and no internal political maneuvering. The attorney who completes the substantive work directly participates in the economic value of the cleared cash fees they generate. • Expected Year 1 Total Earnings Range: $65,000 to $135,000 (base security floor plus progressive marginal production tiers). • Guaranteed Base Security Floor: A reliable W-2 base salary starting at $60,000 in Year 1 ($65,000 in Years 2-3; $70,000 in Year 4) provides absolute household stability and payroll consistency across complex litigation or slow settlement windows. • The Marginal Production Calculation Engine: To cover your guaranteed salary, payroll burdens, health insurance subsidies, and basic desk overhead, the first $150,000 in annual cash fee collections is allocated as a 0% clearance tier. Every dollar collected and cleared COH (Cash-on-Hand) beyond $150,000 within a calendar year is calculated progressively using clear marginal tiers. • A. Initial Growth Bracket ($150,001 to $350,000): Generates a 10% commission payout on cash collected within these bounds. • B. Standard Producer Bracket ($350,001 to $600,000): Generates a 15% commission payout on cash collected within these bounds. • C. High Performer Bracket ($600,001 to $1,000,000): Generates a 20% commission payout on cash collected within these bounds. • D. Peak Contributor Bracket (All Collections Above $1,000,000): Generates an uncapped 25% commission payout on cash collected within this layer. • The Long-Term Tenure Escalator: To reward dedication and build shared equity, both your base salary floor and your active production percentages increase automatically with each completed year of service. A flat 2% tenure escalator is added across all production tiers annually (e.g., in Year 2, the Initial Growth Bracket rate scales to 12%, the Standard Producer Bracket scales to 17%, and the High Performer Bracket scales to 22%). Corporate Benefits Package Comprehensive institutional protections are funded directly by the firm on top of your production wages, ensuring your baseline security is never deducted from your performance tiers: • A. Comprehensive medical insurance coverage, with the firm directly covering a meaningful portion of your monthly premium. • B. Corporate 401(k) retirement plan featuring an immediate 4% company match • C. Full firm-funded coverage for annual New Jersey bar dues, an authorized Continuing Legal Education (CLE) financial budget, and premium malpractice insurance coverage. • D. A performance-and-trust-based unlimited vacation framework. Complete your active litigation obligations to your clients and the court on time, and take the personal time you require without restrictive calendar quotas or artificial Paid Time Off (PTO) carve-ups. Primary Position Responsibilities 1. Manage an active civil litigation caseload from week one under the direct, hands-on supervision and mentorship of senior firm counsel. 2. Execute routine courtroom appearances, draft substantive motions and briefs, lead adversarial negotiations, and conduct face-to-face client counseling sessions. 3. Maintain an active concentration of matters across divorce, family law, foreclosure, real estate, personal injury, and associated practice groups. 4. Absorb case overflow when firm workload dynamics shift, showing a willingness to master additional legal practice areas under supervision. Core Candidate Requirements • A. Active licensure and admission to the New Jersey Bar or currently sitting for/awaiting results from the immediate next administration of the bar exam, if already licensed in another state. • B. A friendly, personable, empathetic, and highly professional demeanor when interacting with clients, colleagues, court staff, and opposing counsel. • C. Strong legal writing skills and the ability to exercise sound, ethical judgment under compressed deadline pressures. • D. Technical fluency with modern cloud-based legal practice management tools, electronic court filing systems (e-filing), Zoom, Google Meet, Windows 11, and macOS. • E. Absolute practice exclusivity with the firm. All legal work must run through Simon Law Group, LLC; separate outside practice, independent moonlighting, or parallel of-counsel structures are strictly prohibited. This Position Is Not a Fit For 1. Attorneys with active disciplinary histories, public reprimands, or professional suspensions. 2. Candidates who struggle to absorb or implement constructive professional peer feedback. 3. Individuals seeking to coast on a fixed salary while the firm independently carries the underlying overhead, operational, and performance risks. 4. Anyone who reads an unlimited vacation structure as a blank-check vacation policy rather than a reciprocal, trust-based professional agreement. Application Instructions We review every legitimate submission and respond to qualified candidates within three business days.
