Position Overview The Onboarding/Offboarding Manager manages the full onboarding lifecycle, ensuring a seamless experience for attorneys and professional staff. This role partners across departments to support successful integration, including lateral partner onboarding. Responsibilities will include: Recruiting & Pre-Hire Coordination Partner with HR and Recruiting to transition candidates from acceptance to start date Coordinate background and conflict checks and onboarding documentation Serve as primary contact for incoming hires Maintain onboarding pipeline and status updates Onboarding & Orientation Develop onboarding schedules for attorneys and staff Assemble and distribute onboarding materials, including any relevant handbooks, policies, and guidelines Coordinate first-day logistics (workspace, systems, welcome materials) Attend to scheduling of various orientation sessions, including coordination with HR, IT, Finance, and Client Value teams Schedule introductory meetings with key stakeholders Cross-Functional Coordination Liaise with IT, Facilities, Finance, and other departments Coordinate system access and platform setup Ensure completion of compliance documentation Lateral Partner Integration Coordinate onboarding for lateral partners Support transfer of client matters and billing arrangements Facilitate conflicts checks and system setup Support integration into practice groups Oversee implementation of lateral partner integration protocol Training & Development Coordination Coordinate training schedules Partner with HR and IT to deliver programs Track required training completion Maintain onboarding resources Integration & Early Success Monitor 30/60/90-day onboarding progress Coordinate follow-up meetings Identify and escalate issues Drive continuous improvement efforts Process Management & Continuous Improvement Develop and maintain standardized onboarding procedures, templates, and checklists Track key onboarding metrics (timeliness, completion rates, satisfaction) Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and overall experience Support onboarding efforts tied to strategic initiatives (e.g., lateral group hires, expansion efforts) Offboarding Management Coordinate transition of responsibilities of departing attorneys to ensure a smooth transition Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 5+ years of HR or onboarding experience preferred Law firm experience strongly preferred Strong organizational and communication skills High attention to detail Reporting Relationship This position reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer The above is intended to describe the general content and requirements for the performance of this job.
